News: Lin-Manuel Miranda write and perform on Netflix’s ‘We The People’

Michelle and Barack Obama produce a new series for Netflix, We the People, which combines a mix of animation styles with original songs performed by artists including Lin-Manuel Miranda, H.E.R., Janelle Monáe, Brandi Carlile, Adam Lambert, Cordae, Bebe Rexha, KYLE, Andra Day and poet Amanda Gorman. Miranda wrote Checks and Balances with Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez; the song is performed by the three authors, Daveed Diggs and Brittany Howard.

The series is available on Netflix from July, 4.

On Tuesday June, 23 Lin-Manuel Miranda was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to talk about the Hamilton movie and announce the new release date of We Are Freestyle Love Supreme on Hulu: July, 17. The documentary was supposed to premiere on June, 5 but was postponed in solidariety with the Black Lives Matter moviment.

Video: “Cheering For Me Now” Official Music Video & Music-to-Light Show on the Empire State Building

The Empire State Building announced the completion of the entirely re-imagined Observatory Experience with the opening of its redesigned 80th floor. To celebrate the unveiling, the Empire State Building premiered a new music video starring Lin-Manuel Miranda. Set to the Hamildrop Miranda wrote with Broadway legend John Kander, “Cheering For Me Now,” the video features a new music-to-light show designed by world-renowned lighting artist Marc Brickman and footage of Lin-Manuel exploring the all-new Observatory Experience, plus some footage from the two video clips released last year, the official one and orchestra version. Miranda visited the Empire State Building on November, 25 to light it blue in support of Small Business Saturday.

News: The December Hamildrop is “One Last Time (44 Remix)” by Christopher Jackson Barack Obama and BeBe Winans

On December 20, Lin-Manuel Miranda dropped the last Hamildrop, ‘One Last Time (44 Remix)’, performed by Christopher Jackson with production from gospel great BeBe Winans and Alex Lacamoire. Mid-tune, former U.S. president Barack Obama reads a moving passage from George Washington’s farewell address that is featured in the play.
‘One Last Time (44 Remix)’ is available for download and streaming.
