The Dramatists Guild of America has announced recipients of its annual awards, which will be presented Feb. 22 at The American Airlines Theatre Penthouse Lobby in New York.
Stephen Adly Guirgis will be the recipient of the Hull-Warriner Award for his play Between Riverside and Crazy; Lin-Manuel Miranda will get the Frederick Loewe Award for Dramatic Composition for his score to Hamilton; Dael Orlandersmith gets the Flora Roberts Award; Lauren Gunderson gets the Lanford Wilson Award; and Stephen Schwartz and Marsha Norman will be co-recipients of the inaugural Dramatists Guild Career Achievement Award.
The Dramatists Legal Defense Fund will present the second DLDF Defender Award to Edward J. Davis of the law firm Davis Wright Tremaine. The attorney recently successfully represented 3C author David Adjmi in a fair-use case. [more at source]
