On March 04, Lin went to the Oscar where he presentend with Emily Blunt the award for Best Original Song, won by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez for Remember Me.
Lin hit the red carpet in sunglasses, wore an Orange American Flag Pin to show his support to the advocacy group Everytown for Gun Safety and stopped by Michael Strahan stage to talk about Mary Poppins Returns and the effort to help rebuilt Puerto Rico.
During the show he also took part the a sketch with many other movie stars: they went into a theater handing sneacks to the moviegoers. Lin and Guillermo del Toro carried a long party sub.
