On September 20, for the anniversary of Hurricane Maria, Lin-Manuel Miranda gave us an Hamildrop sung by artists from Puerto Rico: Zion & Lennox, De La Ghetto, Ivy Queen, PJ Sin Suela and Lucecita Benitez.

On August 31, Lin-Manuel Miranda released a third Hamildrop: the tune ‘Rise Up Wise Up Eyes Up‘ by the duo Ibeyi.

Lin-Manuel Miranda stars in a new American Express ad as the new global brand ambassador; the commercial, directed by Tom Hooper, focuses on Miranda’s connection to Washington Heights, the neighborhood in New York where he grew up and now lives. Miranda recruited family and friends to appear in the spot and co-wrote the soundtrack, ‘Mañana’, with longtime collaborator Alex Lacamoire while on set.

The second August Visual Hamildrop, delivered on Wednesday 29, is the music video of ‘Burn’ by Andra Day directed by Aurora Guerrero and featuring Karimah Westbrook and Raul Castillo.
The Hamildrops series skipped the month of July because Lin-Manuel Miranda thought they weren’t “100% where I’d like them to be yet”, but he promised two Hamildrops for the last week of August and delivered the first on Monday 27: the music video of the June tune ‘Boom Goes The Cannon‘ by Mobb Deep.
