The docuseries Dear… premiered on Apple TV on June 5, 2020.
Dear…,is the highly anticipated docuseries from Emmy and Peabody Award-winning filmmaker R.J. Cutler that began streaming globally June 5, exclusively on Apple TV+. The first season profiles ten game-changing icons, showcasing how one person’s person’s story can change the world through the people whose lives they’ve inspired. Lin-Manuel Miranda is among them.

Inspired by Apple’s groundbreaking “Dear Apple” spots, “Dear…” takes an inventive and cinematic approach to biographies of the most iconic figures in society today by using letters written by those whose lives have been changed through their work. The 10-episode series will profile internationally recognized leaders including Oprah Winfrey, Gloria Steinem, Spike Lee, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Yara Shahidi, Stevie Wonder, Aly Raisman, Misty Copeland, Big Bird and more.

On Sunday June, 21 Disney dropped the first look at the live-action feature of Hamilton. The hip hop musical about American Founding father Alexander Hamilton, starring the Original Broadway cast including Lin-Manuel Miranda in the title role, debuts on Disney+ on July 3.

In December, Disney revealed that the Lin-Manuel Miranda has composed a song for the Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker and appears in the movie with a blink-and-you-will-miss-it cameo. Miranda celebrated the occasion sharing a selfie from the set with the director JJ Abrams. The song he composed is Lido Hey, perfomed by the fictional Shag F. Kava, who gets his name from Abrams and Miranda’s children initials. In the movie, the song is performed by the Aki Aki’s of the planet Pasaana.
